What to do in Courmayeur

Courmayeur is one of the most versatile places where you can find many activities to do both sporting and relaxing, during winter and summer time.

During summer, in the same places it is possible to practise trekking, mountaineering, trail running, mountain biking, horse riding or just organize an easy walk for a picnic in the fantastic valleys of Val Ferret and Val Veny.  

In winter it is possible to practise ski mountaineering, snowboard, freeride, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snow biking, fat biking and you can also experience the thrill of high altitude with heli-skiing. There is also the opportunity to play golf, tennis and at the Courmayeur Sport Center you can find an ice skating ring, practise squash, join a dancing lesson or use a the gym. Courmayeur is not only for sportsmen, it is also a place where you can relax and spend pleasant moments with friends or as a couple.

Want to relax? Are you looking for shopping in the center of Courmayeur or book a SPA or a beauty treatment? In the streets of the characteristic center of Courmayeur you can shop for both fashion clothing and local products; during summer there are special days dedicated to regional markets with handicraft and local products. Before dinner you can sit in the famous Terrazza - in front of Mont Blanc - or in one of the comfortable bars for an aperitif with good music and then go to the restaurant to taste traditional cuisine. While strolling, you can also stop at the Jardin de l'Ange to listen to music or interesting cultural conferences.  If your desire is to abandon yourself to total relaxation, look for the Terme di Prè Saint Didier Spa overlooking the Mont Blanc, you will surely find what you are looking for. For your children there is also a well-stocked free library in different foreing languages, a Fun park in Dolonne, an Adventure Park in Prè Saint Didier and a playroom at the Sport Center. Last but not least you cannot miss the SkyWay and the possibilities to climb over 3,000 meters and admire the majesty of Mont Blanc and its Giant's Tooth.

A few kilometers away from Courmayeur you can reach the historical Roman City Aosta on the ancient Via Francigena (Paris to Roma) surrounded by ancient medieval walls and castles to visit.  Going further down the Aosta Valley, you can visit the Forte di Bard a straordinary castle also theatre of the famous Marvel movie: Fantastic Four heroes. If you wish to visit the French side, from Courmayeur you just need to pass the Mont Blanc Tunnel and you will reach Chamonix.
